The R18 ULTRA CHAIR PUBLIC BETA installation allowed the public to take part in the interactive testing process for the development of this groundbreaking new chair in the courtyard of the 18th Century Palazzo Clerici, Milan from April 17 to 22, 2012 during the 51st Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
THE ULTRA JOURNAL is a free newspaper published as a part of the development of the chair, which was distributed at Palazzo Clerici during the PUBLIC BETA event. THE ULTRA JOURNAL is edited by Janina Joffe and designed by Bureau Mirko Borsche, with essays by Emily King, Hans Ulrich Obrist and an interview by Gianluigi Ricuperati. A CHAIR IN THREE LINES is a textual exhibition curated by Gianluigi Ricuperati that features contributions by: Camilla Baresani, Andrea Branzi, Ivan Carozzi, Konstantin Grcic, Carsten Höller, Cristiano De Majo, Jonathan Olivares, Luca Ricci, Luc Sante, Jerszy Seymour, and Patricia Urquiola.
